For those who are unaware of what trauma porn is, it can be defined as “any type of media – be it written, photographed or filmed – which exploits traumatic moments of adversity to generate buzz, notoriety or social media attention,” and it has been my experience that trauma porn is particularly rampant when it is Black bodies and/or people of color who are the ones being displayed as victims.

First, lets talk about George Floyd,
From the abc news, Police reported because there was a call about a forgery
Officers reported at the scene said, that George Floyd was under the influence and “physically resisted officers”
The officers noticed he was suffering from “medical distress” and called an ambulance
Floyd was taken to the hospital where he died
In a video posted it appears that that an officer had his knees on Floyd's neck during the arrest.
If you really watch it you notice how the person really stops moving, and the officers doesn’t remove his knee. There's even another image that shows there wasn’t just one man on his neck but three men holding his entire body down.
As of now 4 officers there have been fired but there hasn’t been further action.
Protests have struck, for George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Douglas Lewis and Breonna Taylor. During these protests, police used tear gas according to twitter.
Compared to the protests against the wearing of masks, where fully armed white men were only looked at by police.

Second lets talk about Ahmaud Arbery,
Ahmaud arbery was killed feb. 23 by a father and son while jogging The father and son were charged this week, may 21. Because a video was leaked onto social media. Arbery was accused of breaking into homes in the area, according to police reports,.

Do you know how crazy that is? Things get crazier.
An officer told the son that he had spotted Arbery, then the father and son started to pursue him.
In Georgia theres a law that allows citizens to pursue a suspect only if its within their immediate knowledge and if the suspect is a felony the citizen can stop them from escaping if the citizen had reasonable and probable ground of suspicion. (all from the internet)
Their hearing is next month, june 4. Which will determine if the father and son will be on trail for the charges.

Third lets talk about Douglas Lewis,
According to MSN, After a minor traffic accident, Anthony Trifiletti shoot Lewis 4 times.
Douglas Lewis was unarmed.
After Douglas bumped Trifiletti’s rear, the two exchanged info, when an argument began.
Trifilettis friend was there and heard Lewis make a reference to a gang. No other witnesses heard the same claim.
After both left.
After, Trifiletti followed Lewis “unintentionally”
Lewis stopped when he noticed that Trifiletti was following. Got out of the car to presumably ask why.
Trifiletti claims he was reaching under his shirt, thats when Trifiletti said he shot Lewis
At the hospital Douglass Lewis was dead.
Trifiletti claimed it was out of self defense.
At first his bail was set to 1 million dollars, he was charged with second degree murder. As of May 8th his bail was reduced to half a million.

Lastly lets talk about Breonna Taylor,
Breonna Taylor a Kentucky EMT, was shot 8 times when three officers forcibly entered her apartment in a drug investigation.
The police department said that they announced themselves and fired back when Taylor's boyfriend fired at them.
Kenneth Walker the boyfriend was arrested and charged with attempted murder of a police officer and first degree assault. Scheduled to appear in court in June.
But from Taylor’s mother, officers didn’t knock at all, and said they shouldn’t have entered at all because the suspect they had been looking for was already arrested
The officers didn’t find drugs when they entered Taylor's mother also said.
Now going forward officers must where body cameras
Officers at the scene did not have body cameras. Now their no knock warrants must be signed off by a judge, a police chief before the police can go forward. Before only judges could sign-off.
A council member named Jessica Green said she expects immediate action and said “ As an African American, black folks are tired of talking, tired of meeting, I can’t take another meeting where there’s not actually something that specifically happens.”

As i was typing up these notes on may 27 another 21 year old was waved down with guns by police, crying in the video and was then charged with evading police when really he was laying on the ground with his hands up.
